Hallam-ICS Announces New York Office
Hallam-ICS announces the opening of our New
York office, located in Salem, New York and the hiring of our New York
Regional Manager, Tim Schaffernoth. Tim was previously the President of
Rist-Frost Associates, P.C., which was a thirty-person consulting
engineering firm that served industrial clients through the Northeast.
February 14, 2008:
IDEA (International District Energy Association) Campus Energy
Conference Boston, MA
Information sharing for Central Utilities
Plants for large campus settings (Universities, Hospitals, Municipal
buildings, etc.) was the purpose of this conference. Energy usage, and
innovative approaches to minimizing carbon footprint were major topic
areas.
Ray Racine (Senior Controls Engineer) in
conjunction with the Central Heating Plant staff of the University of
Vermont presented a paper on recent upgrades to five existing boilers in
the CHP. The controls upgrade moved the boilers from panel mounted
pneumatic controllers up to a modern electronic platform. The selected
platform was the Emerson DeltaV offering. Other modifications to the
plant included the installation of VFDs on the Forced Draft Fans, and
the installation of two steam-driven chillers to provide central
cooling. The paper outlined the mechanical, electrical & controls work
associated with the project and covered the major lessons learned in
this ambitious upgrade.
January 31, 2008:
Chris Gade joins Hallam-ICS Commissioning
Team
Hallam-ICS is pleased to announce the
re-hiring of Chris Gade. Chris comes to Hallam-ICS from New Paradigm
Automation, where he was a Senior Vice President and one of the original
founders of the custom automation provider for manufacturing clients.
Chris has extensive experience in the design, installation, programming
and commissioning of automation systems in a variety of industries.
Chris will be joining the commissioning and validation team at
Hallam-ICS.
November 6, 2007:
Hallam-ICS Selected for LEED Cx & Design
Review
Hallam-ICS has been selected as the LEED
Commissioning consultant for a new $100 million laboratory and office
expansion. Hallam-ICS will participate in engineering peer review of
the building systems, as well as developing and executing the
commissioning plan for the facility. Hallam-ICS was selected because of
their experience in sustainable design and commissioning.
September 14, 2007:
Hallam-ICS Continuous Investment and Success In Instrumentation &
Calibration
Hallam-ICS continues to grow their
instrumentation & calibration business, particularly in the
pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. To support the on-going
growth, Hallam-ICS has added new instrumentation calibration
technicians, has built upon our Metrology Database for instrument
tracking and has invested over $100,000 in new calibration equipment and
standards in the past 12 months. Our commitment to developing our
people, processes and systems is reflected in our high rate of repeat
business which approached 90% in 2007.
